Domaine des Cailloux
Our field
The Domaine des Cailloux vineyard is located in ONZAIN, small village close to the Loire and facing the chateau of CHAUMONT SUR LOIRE. This 15 hectares vineyard is composed of different grapes varieties including the grapes CABERNET FRANC, GAMAY NOIR, COT NOIR, for red wines and CHARDONNAY, CHENIN, for the white ones. The whole vineyard is on the quite exposed first and second coasts, on parakeets with flint and clay soils (argile à silex) interfered sand of Miocene (sandy soil).
We are concerned about the protection of our soil and of the environment. That's why we are in conversion to biodynamic/organic growing since January 2008.
We manually harvest grapes our old vines with average outputs of 35 hl/ha, usually, the vineyard provides an average outputs of 55 hl/ha.
The wine storehouse is equipped with thermo regulated stainless tanks.
