Clos de la Briderie
The priory of Mesland was founded in the 10th century by monks from the abbey of Marmoutier which is close to Tours. From then, they began to plant vine.
Since, the Count Eude II of Blois in 1509 but also François Ier, the Cardinal of Richelieu and a number of amateurs of reputation assessed and praised the qualities of wines resulting from this soil. The vineyard extends itself on 350 hectares of slopes on the right bank of the Loire which is the sunniest and facing the Château de Chaumont close to Blois.
It was granted the AOC TOURAINE-MESLAND in 1955 (it is the highest regional source classification for French wines).
The Clos de la Briderie is one of the most prestigious vineyards of this AOC. This vineyard keeps all the authenticity and all ancestral qualities of its soil.
